With the digital age in photography, less and less people seem to be using external filters on their camera because people can do similar if not the same effects on their computers using programs like Adobe Photo Shop or GIMP.
Cokin (http://www.cokin.co.uk/ ) is a French company that makes filters and accessories that attach on the end of the camera lens. Nothing computer or software driven, all external pieces that screw onto the camera. I will expand on different filters I have and use in later posts to come. For now take a look at a couple of shots I took at a church photo shoot a while back.
These photographs were all taken with a Sony Cyber shot DSCF707 5MP camera. These were not the high end DSLR camera of the day. This was a high end point and shoot camera for it’s time but still nothing compared to a DSLR.
As for the church that I attended where I took these pictures; I used to attend Glenview Alliance church (http://www.glenviewcma.org/ ) in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania. I used to do the photography for the various church events. Everyone was always very happy with the photo’s I produced from these events using a point and shoot camera with various Cokin filters screwed onto the end of my lens.
